Frequently Asked Questions

What is PDF/A?

PDF/A is a long-term archival format based on ISO 19005. It ensures your file will look identical in 20-50 years - with all fonts embedded, standard colors, and no external dependencies.

Which level should I choose?

PDF/A-2b is recommended for most cases. PDF/A-1b is the oldest and most compatible. PDF/A-2u adds Unicode search. PDF/A-3b allows file attachments (useful for e-invoicing).

Do you keep my file?

No. Files are deleted automatically within 10 minutes of upload.

Does PDF/A prevent editing?

No - it is a preservation format, not a lock. You can edit the file, but it will lose PDF/A compliance if modified.

Why did my file grow?

Full font embedding and ICC color profile add ~30-50% to size. This is normal and required for compliance.
